Mint of Finland
Finnish by origin, The Mint of Finland has evolved into a pan-Nordic consortium.
The establishment of the mint is integrally linked to the birth of the Finnish
nation and its history spans more than a thousand years.
The Mint of Finland is the sole owner of AB Myntverket, the mint of Sweden, and
has a 50-percent shareholding in the Norwegian Det Norske Myntverket. The Mint
of Finland Group serves a global customer base. The first coins at the mint of
Sweden were struck more than a thousand years ago, in 995.
The production of euros, which was started in 1998, has provided the foundation
for The Mint of Finland’s development, technological knowhow and
internationalisation. Circulation coins are an important export item for The
Mint of Finland. The numismatic excellence and progressiveness of The Mint of
Finland is renowned the world over: it supplies numismatic products to several
international clients.
